The Christmas tablecloth’s nostalgic motif, featuring delicate woven Christmas hearts and stylized fir branches, was designed by textile artist Bodil Bødtker-Næss in 1975, becoming a hallmark of the Georg Jensen Damask collection. Inspired by the smooth, gray-brown bark of old hazel trees, the tablecloth’s elegant color is named Hazel Wood.
Bodil Bødtker-Næss was among the notable textile artists associated with Georg Jensen Damask in the 1970s. Besides this iconic Christmas design, she also created the Easter motif in 1979.
The Christmas tablecloth is damask-woven in 100% double-twisted combed cotton.
Wash & care
- Wash at 60°C. White damask tablecloths can be washed at 95°C.
- When washing coloured products, we recommend using a laundry detergent developed for coloured textiles and without bleach, to preserve the colours in the best way possible.
- For a smoother result, we recommend that you unfold the product fully before washing and avoid overfilling the machine. The product should be gently stretched after washing and hung to dry.
- For a smoother result, we recommend washing the product on a low spin cycle – max. 600–800 rpm. Then hang the product to dry and iron it while still slightly damp.
