Sct. Knuds Ørne is an elegant tablecloth based on a nearly 1,000-year-old pattern.
In 1925, Henrik Georg Jensen was granted permission to sketch a historic cloth featuring an eagle motif. This resulted in a damask-woven tablecloth, which was first launched in 1926.
That same year, the Sct. Knuds Ørne tablecloth was awarded the medal for craftsmanship and applied arts.
The tablecloth is woven from 100% double-twisted, combed cotton and comes in a beautiful light grey shade. The special damask weave gives the Sct. Knud’s Eagles tablecloth a beautifully iridescent appearance.
Sct. Knuds Ørne is tied to the dramatic story of the murder of Danish King Knud den Hellige, who was killed in 1086. In 1100, the king was canonized as a saint, and his earthly remains were moved to the crypt in Odense Cathedral, wrapped in a prestigious silk cloth with an eagle motif. Remarkably, this nearly 1,000-year-old textile has been preserved.

- When washing coloured products, we recommend using a laundry detergent developed for coloured textiles and without bleach, to preserve the colours in the best way possible.
- For a smoother result, we recommend that you unfold the product fully before washing and avoid overfilling the machine. The product should be gently stretched after washing and hung to dry.
